David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, has been exonerated after nearly a decade of legal proceedings related to undercover videos exposing abortion industry practices. Daleiden announced, “As promised, the final charge has been DISMISSED and the case completely expunged…” He also stated, “After enduring 9 years of weaponized political prosecution, putting an end to the lawfare launched by Kamala Harris is a huge victory for my investigative reporting and for the public’s right to know the truth about Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby body parts.”
Daleiden agreed to a no contest plea on a single charge with no admission of wrongdoing, fines, or probation, resulting in a not guilty verdict and dismissal of the case. His colleague Sandra Merritt previously reached a similar resolution after years of prosecution.
The original investigation followed the 2015 release of undercover videos depicting discussions by abortion providers regarding fetal tissue. The case was initiated by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris and later pursued by her successor. The dismissal concludes the legal battle surrounding the investigative efforts.
