Thousands of Christians gathered Sunday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving, an event connected to preparations for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Attendees from across the United States and around the world joined in worship, prayer, and calls for spiritual renewal in America.
Many participants expressed concern about the nation’s moral and spiritual condition while emphasizing the importance of returning to biblical principles. Parish Clinton, a military veteran from Mississippi, said, “We have got to get our morals back in line with what Jesus taught and what the Bible says.” Others described the gathering as a moment of unity and repentance.
Shaystin Rogers of Rhode Island said, “Without Him, we’re broken, we’re lost, we’re searching for identity in all the wrong things. It’s only through Jesus.” Attendees also prayed for national leaders and expressed gratitude for the freedom to worship publicly. Organizers described the event as part of a broader effort to encourage prayer and thanksgiving ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.
