The Coca-Cola Company has launched an online promotion that allows customers to personalize messages on select Coke cans and bottles.
According to the promotion’s guidelines, submissions may be rejected if they are “religious or political in nature” or otherwise deemed inappropriate. The website states: “The name or phrase you’ve submitted is not permitted. Names and phrases may not be permitted if they belong to a business, organization, celebrity, public figure, school, team or other trademark, are religious or political in nature, or could be considered inappropriate or unsuitable for other reasons.”
Phrases such as “Jesus Saves,” “Christ is King,” “Jesus,” “Charlie Kirk,” and “MAGA” were rejected during testing.
Social media account Libs of TikTok, which claimed some offensive phrases referencing pedophilia initially appeared to be accepted by the system, though Coca-Cola notes that every personalization request is reviewed before approval and may still be denied with a refund.
