Messianic Rabbi and bestselling author Jonathan Cahn says a violent confrontation aboard American Airlines Flight 618 began after a seemingly friendly conversation turned toward faith and the power of God.
Cahn said he spoke with 67-year-old Arthur Lundeen for nearly two hours before sharing his testimony of moving from atheism to belief in God. According to Cahn, Lundeen’s demeanor then changed dramatically, and he began cursing Jesus and God. The confrontation escalated when Lundeen allegedly struck and choked Cahn and attempted to seize his laptop.
Two passengers intervened, and flight attendants supplied duct tape to restrain Lundeen. The flight made an emergency landing in Baltimore, where authorities took him into custody. Lundeen later told a judge that he could not remember the disturbance.
Cahn, whose new book, The Altar of Pergamon, addresses Satan and spiritual warfare, believes the incident had a spiritual dimension. Despite the attack, he said he is praying for Lundeen and offered him a message of redemption: “God loves you. God’s arms are open. He loves you, and He’ll receive you and wash that all away and give you a new beginning.”
