Sweden’s Youth Are Turning to Jesus

Sweden is experiencing a notable rise in Christian faith among young people after decades of declining religious belief and church attendance.

Signs of renewed interest include Swedish youth naming Jesus Christ “Influencer of the Year” for 2025 and growing attendance at Christian events. The Jesus Conference, launched after organizers said the idea came during prayer, drew more than 3,000 people by its third year.

Christian leaders credit social media with helping spread the gospel beyond Sweden’s traditionally secular media culture. Churches are also reporting increased participation, with some confirmation classes filling within 24 hours.

A national survey shows belief in God is rising, while the number of young people attending church has doubled in four years to 34 percent.

Young converts have described finding faith after struggles with loneliness, substance use, and a lack of meaning. Christian leaders say the growing spiritual hunger follows years of sustained prayer for revival in Sweden.
