Faith in Orbit: Worship Music Reaches Space

Astronauts on the Artemis II mission have incorporated Christian music into their journey around the moon, beginning their sixth day by listening to “Good Morning,” produced by TobyMac with the late Mandisa. Reacting to the report, TobyMac wrote, “Wow, what an honor for me and my friend @mandisaofficial … I know she’s smiling up there right now! #songinspace.” NASA confirmed the song was part of the crew’s wake-up routine.

The mission launched April 1 from Kennedy Space Center and is scheduled as a 10-day crewed lunar flyby. At the launch, Christian artist Anne Wilson performed the national anthem, later reflecting, “What an incredible honor it was to sing the National Anthem at the Artemis II launch!!!” She also shared, “I’m just overwhelmed by God’s goodness. He writes stories far greater than we could ever imagine.”

During an Easter interview, astronaut Victor Glover spoke about faith and creation, saying, “You have this oasis, this beautiful place that we get to exist together,” while emphasizing humanity’s shared place in God’s creation.
