Held at Gunpoint—Then God Sent Help

Held at Gunpoint—Then God Sent Help

Demi-Leigh Tebow, former Miss South Africa and wife of Tim Tebow, recently opened up about a terrifying near-death experience.

Just months after winning her crown in 2017, Tebow was carjacked in broad daylight while stopped at a red light. Surrounded by armed men, one pointed a gun at her head and tried to force her into their vehicle. Miraculously, she managed to escape, running for her life, banging on car doors, pleading for help.

“The most horrific part,” she shared on Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith, “was that people saw and heard me… and no one helped.” That is, until a 19-year-old girl in a beat-up car finally stopped and rescued her.

That moment changed everything. “She showed me what it means to be there for somebody in need… what it means to be interruptible,” Tebow said. Now, she encourages others to be the people who help those in need.
