Mass Baptism Initiative Expands Across Nations

A California-based ministry is expanding its large-scale baptism efforts to a global audience with a new initiative titled “Baptize the World,” scheduled for May 24. Led by Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church, the movement has grown rapidly from regional gatherings to nationwide events, and now aims to unite churches worldwide in a coordinated effort.

Francey said the vision developed over several years, adding, “We believe it was an idea God gave us.” Organizers expect tens of thousands of participants, with the possibility of exceeding 100,000, though final numbers will depend on day-of responses. The initiative encourages local churches in each nation to operate under their own identity while remaining connected globally.

The events are designed to share the Gospel and invite immediate baptism for those responding in faith. Francey stated, “We hope that people who show up without a relationship with Jesus at one of these churches or events will hear the Gospel, respond, and then take the next step to get baptized right then and there.”

Previous efforts have already resulted in tens of thousands of baptisms across the United States, supported by growing church participation.
