Evangelist Franklin Graham preached the Gospel to more than 90,000 people during the “Esperanza Lima” outreach held at Peru’s National Stadium, where crowds filled the venue for two consecutive nights. According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), the stadium was packed “from wall to wall,” while thousands more gathered outside to listen as the message was broadcast beyond the venue.
To help those with limited resources attend, BGEA provided 600 free buses each night. The outreach involved partnership with more than 2,400 churches across Lima. The event also featured Christian music from artists Charity Gayle, The Afters, Christine D’Clario, and the Jahaziel Band.
During his message, Graham declared, “I’ve come for a reason, and that is to share truth. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ And I want you to know tonight that you can have a new life through Jesus Christ, God’s Son.”
Thousands publicly professed faith in Jesus Christ. The Lima outreach is part of Graham’s ongoing global evangelistic ministry.
