Coach Shot During Prayer at Youth Game, Expected to Recover

A Texas youth baseball coach is recovering after being struck by a stray bullet while leading his team in prayer before a game. The shooting occurred on September 21 at The RAC youth baseball complex in Katy, just west of Houston.

According to the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, shots were fired from a nearby pasture just before 10 a.m., moments before the game was to begin. One of the bullets hit a coach from the Houston Warriors in the upper arm. He was treated at a hospital and later released.

Three suspects were arrested: Mahmood Abdelsalam Rababah, 23; Ahmad Mawed, 21; and Mustafa Mohammad Matalgah, 27. All face felony charges and are being held on $100,000 bond.
