“The Faithful” Tells the Book of Genesis Through Women

Executive producers Julie Weitz and Rene Echevarria are bringing the book of Genesis to mainstream television with “The Faithful: Women of the Bible,” a limited-run series focused on Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah and Rachel. Rather than centering on battles and spectacle, the series highlights the spiritual journeys of the women whose lives shaped the biblical account of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The producers said Scripture served as their guiding framework, taking creative liberties only where the text is silent. They consulted outside advisors, including theologian Russell Moore and Rabbi Wendy Zierler, and filmed on location in Rome and Matera to ensure historical authenticity.

“The Faithful” is owned by FOX Entertainment, produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and distributed worldwide by FOX Entertainment Global. It stars Minnie Driver, Natacha Karam, Jeffrey Donovan, Alexa Davalos, Millie Brady and Blu Hunt.

The series premieres Sunday, March 22, airing three consecutive Sundays from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT, concluding Easter Sunday, April 5.
