A new wave of controversy has emerged online following a recent Olympic opening ceremony that featured imagery many viewers described as occult in nature. Commentator Benny Johnson shared clips highlighting the ceremony’s central visual, which appeared to depict a glowing pentagram within a ball of fire. Reacting to the footage, Johnson said, “This is like a complete and total ritual, isn’t it? Look, you can even see like the pentagram there inside of whatever the fireball is.”
Social media users responded with criticism, saying the imagery felt intentionally provocative. The discussion also revived backlash from the 2024 Paris Olympic ceremony, which drew international condemnation after a scene involving drag performers imitating Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. Johnson referenced that event, stating, “What were we talking about then? … this very sick scene where they mocked the Last Supper painting of Christ.”
Johnson called on Christians to boycott the Olympics, saying, “Fellow Christians, can you please join me in a complete and total boycott of the blasphemous, sickening satanic cult ritual known as the Olympics? Jesus Christ will not be mocked.”
