Construction has officially begun on what is being called Britain’s largest Christian monument, the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, following the completion of a $50 million fundraising goal. The monument will stand near Coleshill, between the M6 and M42 motorways, and will reach 167 feet in height, over twice that of the Angel of the North. Designed by Snug Architects in the shape of a Möbius strip, the structure will contain one million bricks, each representing a personal story of “answered prayer,” accessible through smartphones.
Founder Richard Gamble said, “I am delighted we are creating a monument that will share a million stories of hope and that people will be able to discover Jesus, who listens to and answers prayer.” Land for the project was donated by IM Properties, owned by Lord Edmiston, who stated, “Eternal Wall is designed to remind our nation, and people everywhere, of God’s goodness.” The monument is expected to open in 2028 and attract approximately 250,000 visitors annually.
