Tesla CEO Elon Musk has joined a growing chorus of voices urging parents to cancel Netflix due to concerns over transgender ideology being promoted in children’s programming. On Wednesday, Musk posted to his 226 million followers on X: “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.”
This statement followed a post by LibsofTikTok highlighting scenes from shows like Strawberry Shortcake and the Beast of Berry Bog, in which a boy cross-dresses to “express” himself, and The Baby Sitters Club, where a character rebukes hospital staff for “misgendering” a child.
Other shows under fire include Transformers: Earthspark and Dead End: Paranormal Park, the latter featuring a transgender protagonist. Despite being canceled in 2023, the full series remains accessible to children through Netflix Kids.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called the content “Absolutely disgusting!!” and promoted her Protect Children’s Innocence Act. Rep. Tim Burchett called a related Cocomelon clip “Demonic.” Netflix stocks have fallen four days straight.
