Super Bowl 60 Players Point to Faith and Purpose Beyond the Game

The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks are preparing to face one another in Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, highlighting not only elite athletic competition but also personal expressions of Christian faith among several players. In the days leading up to the championship, athletes from both teams have publicly credited God for their opportunities and success, emphasizing gratitude and purpose beyond the game.

CBN Sports spoke with players about their testimonies, focusing on God’s blessings and the meaning they have found through faith. Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson shared how his relationship with God has shaped his life and career. He said, “I honestly wouldn’t be here without the Lord, man. I’ve been through so much in my life … but you know He has saved me, and He has transformed my life.”

Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp has also spoken openly about his faith, as he did during his Super Bowl victory with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. Reflecting on his journey, Kupp said, “My journey to be here has had a lot of ups and downs,” and added that glorifying God through football has given him lasting joy. He noted that his faith sustained him “through all the highs and all the lows.”
