At the UPPERROOM End of Year Conference in Dallas, Texas, over 7,000 people, primarily from Gen Z, gathered for three days of worship, prayer, and preaching to honor Jesus Christ. Brian Barcelona, founder of One Voice Student Ministries, delivered the final message on New Year’s Eve following an emotional visit with his father in a California hospital, who had been diagnosed with cancerous brain tumors. After a time of repentance and prayer with his father, Barcelona returned to Dallas to preach.
“I know people are going to give their lives to Christ tonight. That is not my concern; my concern is, will your family know Him?” he asked the crowd. He challenged attendees to reflect on their spiritual legacy, emphasizing the power of praise through seven Hebrew words and sharing personal testimonies of salvation within his own family.
Many responded to his altar call for holy surrender. “If you want to surrender tonight, then squeeze the hand of the person next to you,” he said, before hundreds came forward.
