Travis Hunter and Noah Lyles Publicly Declare Faith in Christ

Two high-profile athletes have made public commitments to Jesus Christ through baptism. Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter and Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles were each recently baptized, marking a clear step in their faith journey.

On Sunday, Travis Hunter was baptized at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Florida, just hours before his team faced the Seattle Seahawks. A viral video captured the moment. Kristine Love, who posted the footage, wrote, “He asked to come get baptized before today’s game. Thank you Jesus for touching this young man’s life!” Hunter told ESPN, “It’s Sunday. It’s God’s day. I’ve been planning to go get baptized for a minute. I changed my life over to become a better man.” He added, “It means a lot. I’m becoming a better man and leaving my old self and starting a new chapter.”

Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles and his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, were baptized together in Orlando. Their Instagram post included Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
