Trump Reaffirms America's Christian Roots, Calls Nation to Prayer

At the second meeting of the White House Religious Liberty Commission, President Donald Trump delivered a bold affirmation of religious freedom and the foundational role Christianity plays in American life. Speaking at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., Trump declared that faith is essential to the strength and identity of the United States, warning against efforts to suppress Christianity—especially in public schools.

“When faith gets stronger, good things happen for our country,” Trump said, emphasizing that America is and must remain a nation under God. Surrounded by prominent Christian leaders including Franklin Graham, Paula White, and Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Trump called out the growing hostility toward faith from political leaders like Sen. Tim Kaine, who recently questioned the idea that human rights come from God.

Trump announced new Department of Education guidance protecting student prayer and highlighted real cases, like that of Hannah Allen, who faced punishment for leading a prayer group. He also introduced the America Prays initiative, urging believers to unite in prayer ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
