Miracle in Cairo: How God Multiplied Boxed Lunches to Feed Thousands

Several years ago, while ministering in Cairo, Egypt, I witnessed a miracle that still stirs my spirit to this day. It was the kind of event that echoed the miraculous feeding of the five thousand—when Jesus multiplied a young boy’s lunch to feed a multitude (John 6:1–13).

While our experience in Cairo was not of the same magnitude as that moment in Scripture, the miracle we witnessed was equally impossible by natural standards—and every bit as real.

We had gathered in Egypt to host a Ministry Training School for pastors and church leaders from across the nation. Our original expectation was to welcome about 2,000 participants. But as word spread, the hunger for the Word of God became undeniable. Just days before the event, registrations had surged to 3,500. Then, on the day of the event, nearly 5,000 people showed up—most of them hungry, expectant, and spiritually eager.

And yet, we faced a very real, practical problem: we didn’t have enough food.

Only 3,500 boxed lunches had been prepared and counted. That same number of meal tickets had been distributed. But once all the tickets were turned in, something unexplainable happened—we still had meals left. So, we handed out 1,200 more boxed lunches.

Still, they didn’t run out.

When our team counted again, there were another 1,200 lunches ready to give away. By the end of the day, not only had we fed every pastor and leader who attended, but we had enough to bless police officers, neighborhood children, security guards, and even the homeless nearby.

It was a mathematically-verifiable miracle—a divine multiplication that revealed God’s heart to nourish and equip His people in the Middle East.

A Vision for Revival in the Middle East

This experience was more than a one-time blessing. It was a sign of something deeper—a call from the Holy Spirit to continue pouring into the church in the Middle East.

I believe with all my heart that God is doing something profound in that region. Pastors, leaders, and believers are crying out for spiritual training, encouragement, and revival. And I feel a fresh burden to continue equipping them for what lies ahead.

Just as God multiplied food to meet physical needs, He is ready to multiply your seed to meet spiritual needs—both theirs and yours.
