Democrats promoted a fake IVF bill that claimed to support in-vitro fertilization but in reality would have allowed human embryos to be destroyed.
Because it was a fake bill that did not just promote IVF, Republicans were forced to block it.
On Wednesday, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith from Mississippi blocked passage of the bill. This action followed the Alabama Supreme Court’s recent decision ruling that frozen embryos should be considered unborn children.
Senator Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat from Illinois, urged the Senate to bypass procedural hurdles and swiftly approve the Access to Family Building Act through unanimous consent on the Senate floor Wednesday afternoon. Republicans stopped the radical bill because it contains numerous problems.
Liberals are trying to use the controversy over a state court decision about IVF to jam through expansive legislation with massive consequences.
